Have you ever prepped, cooked, and served the perfect family meal only to have your kids crying, complaining, and eating nothing... I have many many times.🙋 When we're able to recognize that our job is to offer the food, NOT to make our kids eat, its a total game changer.
Of course there are things we can do to try to optimize mealtime like being strategic about what we serve, and how, when, and where we serve it.... but let's face it- even when we do it all right, dinnertime can be chaos and it may have nothing to do with you and your food.
There's so much that goes into eating beyond just chewing and swallowing : nervous system and sensory regulation, hunger/fullness cues, social triggers, anxiety etc... So please don't judge your success on how well your kids eat...if you're putting in the effort to strategically offer foods to your family (chaos or no chaos) you're crushing it!💪
