When you're trying to play it cool but your kid finally tries an avocado and likes it....so you run to clear out Walmart's avocado supply.
No just me? Okay, but seriously it's so tempting to get super psyched about your child liking a new food. You dance and clap, announce it to the family and start serving the new food at every meal but then BAM total backfire. Ever happened? Yes, totally. So now I try to not make such a big deal anymore. Like not even praising or complimenting. I will sometimes ask my child to describe it (soft, crunchy, color, shape) but I steer away from eagerly asking how it tasted (Usually eliciting a good or bad😖) This takes off a lot of the pressure of trying a new food and maintains a positive and adventurous attitude. I know it's tempting, but try to play it cool!😎
How do you react when your child finally tries and likes a new food?
