Choosing Functional Speech Targets

While I love a clear cut easily defined case study as much as the next SLP, we all know that real life clients don't present with clearly defined and separated diagnoses. There is usually overlap between speech and language disorders and even within those categories!

When choosing target words to work on speech goals, we can (and should) choose words that are meaningful to our clients. By doing so we can be working on functional language skills while simultaneously targeting speech skills! Pretty cool right? Do you do this in your sessions? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Thank you @cariebertseminars for inspiring this with your lecture at SLP Summit! @slptoolkit@slpnow
